This project takes influence from the new topographic and the photographers involved such as Stephen shore and Lewis Baltz. This project looks at how urban development and how it differs between the city and the country telling it in a three part narrative showing the cycle of development. Whilst through this investigation I wanted to see the differences between these two environments but I was also interested to see if there were any similarities between them. my approach to my images varies but they share a uniform look with the use of the black and white and focal length. But also breaking up the mundane imagery by using a harsh flash and using colour to break up the black and white similar to how Stephen shore’s work was used in the New Topographics: photographs of a man-altered landscape.
