This projects title meaning is quite broad. But there is a meaning behind it, and it is not a very simple and a straightforward answer as each part of it branches out into a couple of different things. It’s about my generation and the younger ones, a culture our world has generated within the fashion industry. Hype the beast concerns fashion culture, it explores the world of fashion culture, the hype marketed to the level it draws an addition in its own negative way. Pushed further than the normal advertisement.
How does the fashion industry influence us? The people, and the world we live in? The work I created is my abstract perception of what the hypebeast culture is, the way I see the fashion industry and the problems it embarks. Showing the perception of the fashion impact on people, the burden, the encircled surrounding of advertisement, the rhetorical imagery. This is the second part of the project. This part focuses on the what the fashion industry does to us, their manipulations through marketing, persuading us to need something we don’t actually need. Going through the different errors this creates in people like addiction, lust turning into madness and lowering self-esteem into hiding our true self.
