Behind the Mind
Mental health, a subject matter that in the last century has fascinated many medical experts of its origin and impacts on the human body, since it was first recognised in 1843 and begun being studied in 1893. Now over a century later this topic of mental health and mental illness has become increasingly significant in relation to the human condition which is influenced by many factors throughout our daily lives.
However widespread the information is, many people still neglect their well-being and disregard support when necessary, by statistics 1 in 4 people will experience mental health problems of some kind each year and with the current unprecedented situation the statistics are bound to rise.
The aim of this project is to recognise and combat against mental health illnesses in what seems to be an endless battle between the human mind and body, showcasing the devastating nature mental illnesses have on the human condition. Which is why this project “Behind the Mind” attempts to bring out our thoughts into vision and to present what we fear, worry or just feel uneasy about, to ultimately make a difference by taking a step forward towards a solution.
